1. The petitioner, a successful candidate in the NEET (UG) 2025, is aggrieved that a college of his choice, nearer to his residence, is charging abnormally high fee which is much higher than the fees of the other similarly situated colleges in the State of West Bengal.

2. Though the State has not filed its report, Mr. Datta, learned Government Pleader, submits that this issue can be effectively dealt with by the Permanent Fee-fixation Committee, which has been situated to look into such matters.

3. Mr. Basu, learned senior Advocate appearing for the petitioner, submits that the petitioner consents to such issue that the matter is within the domain of the aforestated Committee.

4. In view of the aforestated, the Permanent Feefixation Committee is requested to look into this matter and pass necessary orders by treating the writ petition as a representation.

5. The Committee will be at liberty in consonance with its powers, to give a hearing to the concerned parties upon adequate prior notice and pass necessary orders in the matter. Since the matter is of some urgency, the Committee is requested to treat it with some amount of priority.

6. With the aforestated directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

7. There shall, however, be no order as to costs.

8. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on usual undertaking.
