It was the case of the petitioner that her husband was a "Bhisti" worker employed with the PWD. After his demise, the petitioner has been drawing a paltry sum as pension. She has come to know that a third person who was not related to the petitioner or her husband had obtained a job in the PWD on compassionate ground in respect of death of the petitioner's husband. A compliant was filed to the police authorities in this regard, but no FIR was registered.

From the report dated 04.10.2023 filed by the Officer-inCharge, Hare Street Police Station, it appears that the private respondent namely, Nazrul Islam was appointed in the Caretaking Establishment, Writer's Building under the Public Works Department on 16.07.1988, while the petitioner's husband passed away on 23.11.1992. Therefore, the appointment of the said Nazrul Islam was not done on compassionate grounds in respect of the death of the petitioner's husband.

In view of the above report, I find no merit in the writ petition.

Therefore, the same is dismissed, however, without any costs.
