The writ petitioner is aggrieved that the private respondents are threatening and intimidating him to withdraw any complaint against them.

Admittedly, a charge-sheet under Sections 302/34 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 25/27 of the Arms Act, being No. 601 of 2021 dated 11.10.2021, have been filed against the accused persons, who are all absconding. Three several complaints were received from the petitioner after the threats and intimidation by the private respondents. The police have registered three FIRs. Two of such FIRs have resulted in charge-sheet. The third FIR has resulted in FRMF.

This Court is of the view that the petitioner made out a good case for protection.

Domkal Police Station shall post a police picket

comprising of two constables for a period of one week from date outside the petitioner's residence. After a period of one week, Domkal Police Station shall continue to maintain a regular vigil over the petitioner's residence and afford any other protection as may be deemed necessary.

The Superintendent of Police, Murshidabad shall look into the matter of securing the petitioner in accordance with law.

Domkal Police Station shall immediately take steps for cancellation of the bail of the persons, who are enjoying the liberty.

With the aforesaid directions, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

Instructions of Inspector-in-charge, Domkal Police Station dated 20th November, 2022 addressed to the Government Pleader, High Court, Calcutta is taken on record.

There will be no order as to costs.
