Without entering into the merits of the claim of the petitioner, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Secretary, Law Department, Government of West Bengal to take steps to consider the petitioner's application made on July 4, 2024 (Annexure P4, p.12) in accordance with law at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. A reasoned decision shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner forthwith thereafter.
