1. Learned counsel for the petitioner claims parity with Mr. Koushik Bose @ Ghosh, who was granted anticipatory bail on 22.5.2024 in connection with CRM (A) 1753 of 2024.

2. Learned counsel for the State has produced the case diary and submits that the petitioner is the principal accused.

3. It appears from the record that the petitioner himself claimed to be a WBCS Officer and represented that he would be the next B.D.O of Hanskhali and he used to use the vehicle with the placard "Government of West Bengal" and he offered government job to the de-facto complainant and other persons in lieu of cash. Prima facie, it appears that the petitioner has collected around Rs. 5 lakhs (Rs.5,00,000/-) from the defacto complainant and the other persons.

4. On such consideration, we are not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Accordingly, the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected and the same is accordingly disposed of.
