Two work orders were issued in favour of the petitioner for installation of submersible pump on March 20, 2015 and August 10, 2015. According to the petitioner he completed the work as per the aforesaid work orders and raised bills for the same. In spite of the receipt of the bills, the respondent authority is not taking any steps to disburse the amount which is lying due in his favour.

In response to a complaint filed by him before the District Magistrate, Purba Medinipur a request was made by the said District Magistrate to the SubDivisional Officer by Memo No. 307/PG dated October 17, 2017 whereby the Sub-Divisional Officer has been requested to cause an enquiry and take appropriate action in the matter, so that the petitioner gets relief from the problem.

The petitioner complains that even thereafter no steps have been taken by the respondents for redressal of his grievances.

As it appears that the prayer of the petitioner for disbursement of his legal dues is pending consideration at the end of the respondent authorities, no useful purpose will be served by keeping the writ petition pending.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of by directing the District Magistrate, Purba Medinipur being the respondent no. 3 herein to take prompt necessary steps to ensure that the request made by him on October 17, 2017 is acted upon by the appropriate authority. Necessary steps shall be taken by the aforesaid respondent strictly in accordance with law within a period of four months from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

In the event, the said respondent is of the opinion that the petitioner is entitled to receive the amount as claimed by him, necessary steps shall be taken for disbursal of the same immediately thereafter. WPA No. 18139 of 2019 stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties after completion of all legal formalities.
