Case of the petitioner is that he is a life convict. He prays for premature release. His prayer for premature release was considered and recommended by the State Sentence Review Board on September 2, 2022. Thereafter, the minutes of the Review Board was forwarded for approval to the judicial department.

The judicial department vide its order dated December 19, 2024 observed that the convict being the petitioner herein not only committed a premeditated murder of the victim but also organized the same and committed breach of trust of his former employee. He is now 51 years of age and his capacity to commit further crime might still be of concern for the society. Hence, the recommendation for premature release of the petitioner has not been approved.

As the judicial department has not approved the case of the petitioner for premature release, accordingly, no order granting relief to him can be passed in the instant case.

The writ petition fails and stands dismissed.
