Heard learned counsels for the parties.

The petitioner is in custody for about a year and prays for bail.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. I have considered the material on record. The petitioner is the son of the victim. The victim was strangulated to death. The rope with which he was strangulated has been recovered pursuant to the leading statement of the petitioner. Witness action has commenced. The petitioner is in custody for a year. The offence, if proved, shall attract mandatory life imprisonment.

Considering the gravity of the offence and prima facie involvement of the petitioner therein, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

The application for bail is thus disposed of. Case diary be returned.
