Since the innocuous prayer of the petitioner is for expeditious disposal of Sessions Trial No. 6(2) of 2020 pending before the learned Additional District Judge, 7th Court, Barasat, North 24 Parganas the matter may be disposed of without service of notice upon the opposite party.

The opposite party shall not be prejudiced by an order directing expeditious disposal of the case. This Court is informed that charge was framed on 15th February, 2020 and out of six charge sheeted witnesses only one witness has been examined in full and discharged.

In view of the above, the learned Trial Court is directed to dispose of the case as expeditiously as possible, preferably within eighteen months from the next date of hearing fixed before him without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, in accordance with law.

The revisional application being CRR 3351 of 2024 is disposed of.

Urgent certified website copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities.
