The writ petitioner has obtained permission from the army authorities for flying of kites in the Kolkata Maidan adjacent to the Victoria Memorial Hall by communication dated 25th September, 2021. The said permission was subject to clearance from the Kolkata Police.

By a communication dated 6th December, 2021, the writ petitioner has applied to the Joint Commissioner (HQ), Lal Bazar, Kolkata for clearance and/or for permission. There is no reply from the Commissioner till date.

In that view of the matter, the respondent no. 3 shall pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation as expeditiously as possible within a

period of two weeks from date and communicate the same to the petitioner immediately thereafter. With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
