Petitioner has filed this writ petition being aggrieved by the alleged inaction on the part of the respondent CESC authority in considering his application for new electric connection which was submitted on 25th May, 2022. Petitioner submits that he is ready and willing to comply with all the formalities which are required under the law. Learned advocate representing the respondent CESC authority submits that since already there is an existing service in the premises in question and as such petitioner will have to make application for loop meter at the existing service and further submits that if petitioner makes such application the CESC authority will consider the same and considering such

submission of the CESC authority this writ petition being WPA 19459 of 2023 is disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to make a fresh application for loop meter, within 15 days from date and if such application is made in accordance with law, the respondent electricity authority concerned shall consider such application and take expeditious steps to instal loop meter at the existing service at the premises in question of the petitioner, within six weeks from date subject to any legal compliance and cooperation by the petitioner to the electricity authority.
