The petitioner was an employee in Durgapur Projects Limited (in short, DPL), the respondent no. 1. The petitioner retired from service on 30th April, 2019. The petitioner has been paid his retiral benefits, but disputes the computation of such benefits as made by his employer (DPL). The petitioner has made a representation dated 6th June, 2024, which appears at page 26 of the writ petition as Annexure - 'P-4' stating the correct computation, according to the petitioner.

Let the said representation be disposed of within a period of 8 weeks from the date of communication

of a server copy of this order without insisting upon production of a certified copy thereof.

The respondent authorities shall pass a reasoned order after affording the petitioner an opportunity of hearing and to place documents in support of his claim. The reasoned order should be communicated forthwith to the petitioner on being passed.

Nothing further remains to be adjudicated in this writ petition. The same is accordingly disposed of. Since I have not called for any affidavits, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed to have not been admitted by the respondents. I also make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the case and the authority concerned shall independently and without being influenced by any observation in this order shall decide the issue raised by the petitioner.
