The petitioner is a trained primary school teacher. He obtained diploma in Elementary Education from the National Institute of Open Schooling in the course for the session 2017-2019. The last date of examination of the training course was 16th March, 2019. He prays for grant of 'A' category scale of pay on and from 17th March, 2019.

This Court has held that a trained teacher would be eligible to receive 'A' category scale of pay on and from the next date of conclusion of the examination of the training course.

In the instant case, the petitioner concluded his examination of the training course on 16th March, 2019 and, accordingly, would be eligible to receive 'A' category scale of pay on and from 17th March, 2019.

In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the District Primary School Council, Purulia to take necessary steps for grant of 'A' category scale of pay to the petitioner on and from 17th March, 2019.

Steps shall be taken in the matter at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to forward all documents in support of his prayer to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order be supplied to the parties, if applied for, as early as possible.
