The petitioners are in custody for four years and three months. They pray for bail.

We have considered the materials on record prima facie disclosing involvement of the petitioners in alleged possession of 22.22 kilogram of ganja and in view of statutory restrictions under Section 37 of the NDPS Act, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners.

The prayer for bail is, accordingly, rejected. Having considered the protracted period of detention, we request the trial court to conclude the trial at an early date preferably within a period of one year from the next date for recording evidence without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
