Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that he is in custody for one year and four months. Learned Counsel appearing for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

We have considered the materials on record including statement of the minor girl disclosing prima facie involvement of the petitioner in the alleged offence and as his prayer for bail was rejected earlier, we are of the opinion that this is not a fit case to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage. The application for bail is, thus, rejected.

Trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date preferably within six months from the next date fixed for recording evidence without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. (Bivas Pattanayak, J.) (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
