The petitioner contested the Panchayat General Elections, 2023. She raises an issue with regard to the eligibility of the private respondent no. 4 in contesting the said election.

Objection was filed before the Block Development Officer on July 12, 2023 followed by reminder dated August 1, 2023. The same is pending consideration till date.

Without entering into the merit of the claim of the petitioner, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Block Development Officer, Itahar to consider and dispose of the objection filed by the petitioner in accordance with the relevant rules after giving reasonable opportunity of hearing to all the necessary parties at the earliest but positively within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order. A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the parties.

If the allegation of the petitioner is found to be correct, then necessary remedial steps shall be taken. Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to forward the objection dated July 12, 2023 and August 1, 2023 to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
