The petitioner participated in the recruitment process of primary school teachers pursuant to the recruitment notification published by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education on December 23, 2020. In terms of the said notification applications were to be filed by the candidates online. At the time of filing the application the petitioner inadvertently mentioned incorrect marks obtained by him in the Class-X examination. The application was filed by the petitioner online in December 2020.

The petitioner prays for a direction upon the respondent authorities to permit him to rectify the marks mentioned in the application form.

Learned advocate representing the Board submits that it is the duty and responsibility of the candidate to fill up the application form by giving proper details. The

petitioner has mentioned wrong marks in the application form. At such a delayed point of time there is no scope to rectify the error in the application form.

It appears from the submissions made on behalf of the parties that the petitioner was not careful enough to fill up the application form by mentioning the proper marks obtained by him in his Class-X examination. The recruitment process is long over and there is no scope on the part of the Board to allow the petitioner to rectify the application form which was filed by him in December, 2020.

No relief can be given to the petitioner in the instant writ petition.

The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties after completion of all legal formalities.
