It appears that the private respondents could not be reached with the notice and the envelope returned with the endorsement "addressee could not be located". Report filed on behalf of the State is also taken on record.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. After filing of the writ petition, the FIR that was sought to be registered by the petitioner has actually been registered. He further submits that there is an apprehension of breach of peace in the locality.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the report and submits that an FIR being New Town Police Station Case No.256 of 2023 dated 15.08.2023 has already been registered. A proceeding has also been initiated under Section 107 of the Code.

Since the prime grievance of the petitioner about nonregistration of an FIR has already been redressed, no further order need be passed in this regard.

However, the police authorities shall keep a close watch in the locality and ensure that no breach of peace takes place. With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order may be supplied to the parties expeditiously, if applied for. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
