Having considered the materials on record prima facie disclosing involvement of the petitioner in assaulting his wife on her head which is supported by medical evidence, we are of the opinion that in view of the gravity of the offence this is not a fit case to grant anticipatory bail to him.

Accordingly, the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner stands rejected.
