Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioners is taken on record.

The petitioners are the winning candidates in the Gram Panchayat Elections held in the State on 8th July, 2023. The petitioners apprehend that they will be prevented at the instance of the rival political parties from attending the meeting scheduled to be held on 16th August, 2023 at 11.30am for the formation of Shantipur Panchayat Samiti Board. Only to ensure a free and fair democratic process, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Officer-nCharge, Santipur Police Station, Nadia to ensure that the petitioners can attend the meeting by deploying adequate number of personnel. The Officer-in-Charge shall also deploy

adequate number of police personnel at the venue of the meeting so that the meeting takes place without any hindrance. With these directions, W.P.A 19548 of 2023 is disposed of.

Since affidavits have not been called for the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admittedly the State.

Let the report filed by the State be kept with the records. All parties to act on the server copy of this order will be (Kausik Chanda, J.)
