C.R.M. Mr. Bitasok Banerjee Ms. Poulomi Bose ... For the State Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for more than 8 years and renews his prayer for bail. His prayer was turned down by this Court earlier on 5th February, 2025.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. I have considered the material on record.

On merits, the petitioner does not deserve a favourable order at this stage.

It is brought to the notice of the Court that after bail prayer of the petitioner was rejected earlier, the matter has been adjourned before the learned trial Court mostly at the instance of the petitioner. 9 more witnesses are sought to be examined by the prosecution.

In view of the above, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

Learned trial Court is directed to expedite the trial without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.

The application for bail is disposed of.
