The petitioner submitted a representation on or about 24.07.2024 to the Officer in Charge of the Purba Jadavpur Police Station relating to the brother of the deceased husband having forcefully taken away the auto-rickshaw and motorcycle of her husband. In spite of informing the police authorities no steps were taken.

Having considered the information was reported to the Police Station more than a year ago, I direct that in case no steps have been taken by the police authorities, the petitioner would approach the jurisdictional Magistrate under the relevant provisions of law. The learned Magistrate would assess and ascertain regarding the genuinity of the allegations and pass necessary directions as it deems fit and proper. As none appears for the State, Ms. Anima Sengupta, learned Advocate, who ordinarily appears for the State, is directed to represent the State. Her appearance be regularized by the concerned authority.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA No. 20283 of 2024 stands disposed of.
