1. None for the petitioner.

2. Nobody appeared for the petitioner and the matter is listed today as a last chance.

3. The petitioner has called in question the constitutionality of the Criminal Procedure (Identification) Act, 2022 which was called as Criminal Procedure (Identification) Act, 2022.

4. The learned Additional Solicitor General submits that in view of introduction of the new Act namely, BNSS, 2023, the impugned provision has lost its significance.

5. There is nobody to oppose the said prayer.

6. This PIL is dismissed for want of prosecution and also on the aspect raised by learned ASG that in view of introduction of BNSS, the impugned provision pails into insignificance.

7. This order will not come in the way of a person aggrieved to assail the analogous provision inserted in the New Act of BNSS, 2023, if law so permits.
