1. The appeal is directed against an order dated May 10, 2024 passed in contempt jurisdiction by the learned Single Judge.

2. By the impugned order, learned Single Judge refused to entertain the contempt petition.

3. In view of Section 19 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, the appeal is not maintainable.

4. Be that as it may, we ventured to consider the merits of the claim of the appellants given the plight of the appellants.

5. Appellants before us claim that they were appointed by the respondents by three several letters dated June 6, 2000, December 3, 1999 and February 10, 1999.

6. The appellants claim that they are entitled to various reliefs in view of their appointments.

7. We find from the records that the appointments were purely on ad hoc basis for a period of six months and shall be automatically terminated on expiry of six months.

8. The appellants were paid their respective remuneration in respect of the period that they worked with the authorities.

9. We do not find any merit in the present appeal.

10. F.M.A. 1076 of 2024 and the connected application being CAN 1 of 2024 are dismissed without any order as to costs.
