Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the applicant/petitioner submits as follows. By an order dated 08.09.2023 passed in WPA 19678 of 2023, this Court directed expeditious conclusion of the investigation under the supervision of the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Purba Medinipur. It was directed that if any complaint was made by the petitioner alleging threatening of witnesses, the police should take appropriate steps. Even otherwise, the police authorities were to keep sharp vigil and ensure that no breach of peace takes place. Soon after the order was passed, the accused/private respondents started threatening the petitioner and her sister-in-law. The threats continue. In fact, the victim who had gone to Kolkata for treatment is not being allowed to enter the jurisdiction of Khejuri Police Station. The police have done nothing despite being intimated. This is a clear violation of the order passed by this Court.

Let a notice of contempt be issued upon the alleged contemnors.

The notice is made returnable on 06th August, 2024.
