The enquiry report pursuant to the complaint lodged by the petitioner has been placed before this Court which has been signed by the Fishery Extension Officer, Domjur Development Block, Howrah. A spot inspection was conducted after receipt of the complaint and it is stated that the character of the land is a pond and it is covered up by bricks, debirs/rubbish, garbage, eichhornia and other unwanted, troublesome, noxious weeds etc. The pond is not being used for aquaculture and other aquaculture activities and the entire area remains unused over the years and there are several multistoried buildings surrounding the water body. If the said area is used as a dumping ground then the authority should take action. A copy of the report drawn by the Fishery Extension Officer, Domjur Development Block, Howrah be forwarded to the 5th respondent/Pradhan of the Bankara Gram

Panchayat, who shall take appropriate action to prevent further dumping of the waste materials in the pond and also take steps for restoring the pond to its original position.

With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition is disposed of.
