1. By this public interest litigation the petitioners alleging that the 4th and 5th respondents, namely, Pradhan and Upa Pradhan of the Gram Panchayat are illegally cutting down the trees and unlawfully selling the felled trees and embezzling the proceeds for personal gains.

2. In this regard a representation has been given to the District Panchayat and Rural Development Officer on 25.07.2023 and alleging that no action has been taken on the representation which is a mass petition, the petitioners have filed this writ petition.

3. Since we are disposing of this writ petition without calling for affidavits, the allegations made by the petitioners against the Pradhan and Upa Pradhan have not been gone into and it would suffice to direct the 3rd respondent, namely, the District Panchayat and Rural Development Officer to consider the representation dated 25.07.2023 and proceed to take

action in accordance with law after notice to the Pradhan and Upa Pradhan of the Gram Panchayat.

4. In order to facilitate the compliance of this direction, the petitioners are directed to forward a copy of the representation along with the copy of this order to the District Panchayat and Rural Development Officer for compliance of the above direction.
