For the State The petitioner is directed to serve a copy of this revisional application upon Ms. Manisha Sharma, Learned Advocate, who ordinarily appears on behalf of the State. Her appearance may be regularised by the concerned authority. Learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was arrested on 14th March, 2022.

The records of the case reflect that after filing of the charge-sheet, charge has already been framed and dates have been fixed in the month of September, 2023 for evidence.

Having regard to the fact that the petitioner is in custody for seventeen months, I am of the opinion that the Learned Special Court should, in the circumstances, fix a schedule consisting of three dates and fix such schedule once in every sixty days so that the trial of the case can be

taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. No unnecessary adjournment should be granted to either of the parties. In case, any witness is reluctant to appear, then, the Learned Trial Court would directly communicate with the Superintendent of Police of the concerned district, who is responsible for maintaining a register for the progress of the NDPS case. The concerned S.P. would take all necessary steps for ensuring the appearance of the witnesses.

The Learned Public Prosecutor of the case would produce the materials, documents and exhibits on the date so fixed for examination of the witnesses. All the stakeholders would cooperate with the Learned Trial Court for concluding the trial With the above observations, CRR 3067 of 2023 is disposed of.

Pending application, if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court at Calcutta.
