Heard the learned counsel for the writ petitioner and the learned counsel for the respondents.

The petitioner claims that one Panchayat Samity had taken the service of the writ petitioner in the year 2000 for overseeing the distribution of food grains, being done at the Panchayat level.

The petitioner's engagement even as per his claim was on an honorarium, through a resolution allegedly taken by a Panchayat Samity. The West Bengal Administrative Tribunal (hereinafter referred to as the 'S.A.T.') has rejected the petitioner's prayer for regularisation of his service on a Group-'D' post made in the original application.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the S.A.T. should not have rejected the application on the ground that it was not maintainable since the petitioner was seeking
regularisation against a Group-'D' post, under the State Government.

No case is made out by the applicant/writ petitioner for the relief of regularisation. Having regard to his alleged engagement by a resolution of the Panchayat Samity, on honorarium, he does not qualify for regularisation.

The impugned order of the Tribunal has not occasioned any injustice to the petitioner, and we therefore do not find any reason to interfere with the order dated 29.07.2025 passed by the Tribunal in O.A. No. 27 of 2025.

The petitioner however is at liberty to pursue his representation before the authority (respondent no.2).

The Writ Petition being W.P.S.T. No. 183 of 2025 is accordingly disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
