This is an application praying for police protection for holding of meeting for Panchayat Samity Board Formation that was scheduled to take place today.

The matter is being moved today at about 2:50 P.M. while it is intimated by the learned Counsel for the petitioner that a Board Meeting that was scheduled to be held today i.e. 14th August, 2023 at about 10:30 A.M. has actually been concluded and the Board has been formed. However, there is an apprehension that further breach of peace might take place.

Learned Counsel for the State refers to certain purported mistakes in the writ petition and submits that only one of the candidates has prayed for relief on behalf of all others.

I have heard the learned counsels appearing on behalf of the parties and have perused the writ petition.

Fortunately, the Board Formation Process is now over without any untoward incidents.

The only thing that remains is providing security to all concerned including elected members so that no breach of peace takes place.

Therefore, it is directed that the respondent authorities shall maintain a sharp vigil at the locale and ensure, by providing adequate security, that no breach of peace takes place and no harm is done to the elected members.

With the aforesaid observations, the instant writ petition is disposed of.

The parties shall act on the communications to be made by the learned Advocate-on-record of the petitioner and/or learned Counsel for the State. All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
