And In Re : Krishna Mondal ..... petitioner Mr. Ashutosh Mandal ... for the petitioner Mr. Joydeep Roy Ms. Sujata Das ... for the State Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits he is in custody for 172 days. He prays for bail. Learned Counsel appearing for the State opposes prayer for bail.

We have considered materials on record including the statement of the victim girl who is aged about 11 years. She has implicated the petitioner in the offence of penetrative sexual assault. Under such circumstances and in view of the grave nature of offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.
