The petitioners complain that the private respondents are harassing them by picketing outside their residence and using filthy and abusive languages.

The Inspector-in-charge, English Bazar Police Station has filed a report dated 11th September, 2022. The same is kept with the record.

It appears from the said report that on the complaint of the private respondent no.5, FIR was registered against the petitioner no.3 and charge-sheet has been filed being English Bazar Women Police Station Charge-sheet No. 108 of 2022 dated 10th June, 2022 under Sections 417/376 of the Indian Penal Code. It further appears from the said report that charge-sheet is pending trial.

On the complaint of the petitioner no.1, English Bazar Police Station has also registered FIR being No. 1371 of 2022 dated 4th September, 2022 under Sections 448/341/323/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code.

It is expected that the investigation into the aforesaid FIR is completed as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of one month from date.

Since the petitioner no.1 is a cancer patient, English Bazar Police Station shall ensure that the private respondents do not in any way disturb the peaceful living of the petitioners.

In the event of any further request or complaint from the petitioners, English Bazar Police Station shall consider posting of a suitable police picket outside the petitioners' residence, at the petitioners' cost. With the aforesaid directions, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
