Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that despite a specific direction of this Court in the order rejecting the bail prayer of the petitioner passed on December 06, 2024 trial is yet to conclude.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. Bail prayer of the petitioner was turned down considering the material on record. On merits, the petitioner does not deserve a favourable order at this stage. This Court is informed that the cross-examination of the last witness is in progress. Therefore, trial is on the verge of conclusion. The petitioner is in custody for more than two

years. Offence, if proved, shall attract mandatory life imprisonment.

In view of the above, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

The bail application is disposed of.
