When the case was brought before this Court on October 1, 2024, the petitioner alleged that Murshidabad Municipality had laid a water pipeline encroaching upon his land without following the requisite acquisition procedures. Additionally, the learned counsel for the petitioner asserted that the original route of the pipeline had been altered, leading to the removal of fruit-bearing trees from the land and the demolition of the boundary fencing.

The Municipality was directed to file a report in response to these allegations. This Court also restrained Murshidabad Municipality from undertaking any further work on the relevant land for a period of 12 weeks from the date of the order. Furthermore, the Municipality was directed to submit a report within two weeks following the Puja Vacation.

Today, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, following the communication of the order dated October 1, 2024, Murshidabad Municipality has removed the pipeline from the petitioner's plot.

In light of this development, no further action is required in this writ petition.

Accordingly, WPA 20580 of 2024 is disposed of.
