Petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that in spite of informing the police station being Kotwali Police Station, Paschim Medinipur no steps have been taken.

Grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner had taken loan from SMFG (Fullerton) India Credit Co.

Ltd.

Because of personal difficulty/illness the loan could not be repaid and there were default in payment of installments. Consequently, it has been alleged that the Finance

Company had sent persons who at 12.30 p.m. on 11.08.2025 threatened the petitioner and his father. Petitioner complains that there was severe mental harassment, social humiliation and emotional trauma. Petitioner as such apprehends that he and his father may be subjected to physical assault and other illegal activities at his shop. To that extent, information was furnished to the police authorities. Police authorities conducted an enquiry.

Be that as it may, since the private respondents claim to be a non-banking financial company, in case they are deprived of their dues they would act by exhausting the provisions of law. Police authorities would only ensure that the petitioner and his father is not subjected to any harassment without any due process of law.

Learned advocate for the respondent no. 13 is present and submits that unnecessarily respondent no. 13 has been added as a party without any averment in the writ petition that the private respondents are a non-banking financial company.

Be that as it may, since the agony and anxiety of the petitioner is with regard to the inaction of the police authorities, I am of the view

that directions passed above would suffice in the present set of circumstances.

With the aforesaid observations WPA 19861 of 2025 is disposed of.
