The writ petitioner complains that the private respondents are assaulting him and his family members. There are disputes and differences between the petitioner and the private respondents in connection with certain properties under the Wakf Act as also other private properties. Civil and statutory proceedings are pending by and between the petitioner and the private respondents in respect of the properties in question.

Against the complaints of assault and other allegations made by the petitioner, FIR No. 667 of 2022 dated 20.08.2022 has been registered by the Domjur Police Station. A further FIR in respect of another complaint being No. 680 of 2022 dated 26.08.2022 has also been registered.

Investigation into two FIRs be completed as expeditiously as possible.

However, given the

apprehension of the petitioner and nature of the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the Domjur Police Station to post police picket comprising of two constables in the said locale at the cost of the writ petitioner.

For the aforesaid purpose, cost of deploying two constables shall be communicated to the petitioner and upon payment whereof, the police picket shall be deployed.

Domjur Police Station shall maintain a strict vigil on the said locale and ensure that there is absolutely no breach of peace in the area. Police picket shall be maintained for a period of one month from date.

Instructions of Domjur Police Station dated 14.09.2022 addressed to the State advocate is taken on record.

The writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
