Learned advocate for the petitioners says that the petitioners are in custody for about 258 days. They are the parents of the victim child, who was only 45 days old. The allegation is that the petitioners threw the girl child in the river which flows past the concerned village. The petitioners say that they have been falsely implicated. They pray for bail.
The State strongly opposes the prayer for bail. Our attention is drawn to statements recorded under Section 164 Signed By :

of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The statements squarely implicate the petitioners.
In view of the incriminating material against the petitioners, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners. The application for bail being CRM (DB) 2661 of 2024 is, thus, dismissed.
We are told that there are eight charge sheet named witnesses. We request the learned trial Court to expedite the trial to the extent possible and conclude the same on an early date.
