The petitioner claims to be a TET Qualified candidate. He intends to obtain the TET Certificate from the West Bengal Board of Primary Education. It appears that the Board had indicated a specified time period within which application for obtaining TET Certificate was to be filed. The petitioner,

for reasons best known to him, did not apply within the stipulated period.

The petitioner relies upon the guidelines of the NCTE relating to award of TET Certificate.

Learned advocate representing the Board submits that the petitioner ought to have made a formal application before the Board prior to invoking the writ jurisdiction.

Admittedly, the petitioner did not file any representation before the Board seeking redressal of his grievances.

In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of by observing that it will be open for the petitioner to apply before the Board for issuance of the TET Certificate.

In the event such request is made, the same shall be considered by the Board at the earliest but positively within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order be supplied to the parties, if applied for, as early as possible.
