Petitioner has prayed before the respondent authority for renewal of permit on September 22, 2011. The statutory fee was submitted by the petitioner on November 23, 2012. The vehicle fitness/insurance certificate has also been annexed to the writ petition. It is submitted that the necessary documents have been submitted by the petitioner before the concerned authority for consideration of his prayer for renewal. Allegedly the respondent authority has never acted upon such application of the petitioner, though the same is eligible to be allowed, in accordance with law. Therefore, the petitioner has twice written to the concerned respondent authority i.e. vide his letter dated August 12, 2024 and July 18, 2024. Those are still to be considered. Mr. Maity, learned advocate appearing for the petitioner, seeks an appropriate order, in this case. Mr. Deb Roy, learned advocate is appearing for the RTA/the respondent n. 4.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the instant case, let this writ petition be disposed of by directing the respondent no. 4 to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representations dated August 12, 2024 and July 18, 2024 by dint of a reasoned order. In doing so, the respondent shall afford opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and complete the entire exercise within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. Its decision shall be informed to the petitioner, within one week thereafter. The writ petition No. 20641 of 2024 is disposed of. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all formalities.
