(via video conference) Mr. Rituparna Ghosh Mr. Saurabh Guhathakurta Mr. Sourav Sardar ...for the petitioner This is application seeking an expeditious disposal of a proceeding under Section 12 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is the husband of the opposite party no.2. The couple got married in 1995. In 2014, the opposite party no.2 instituted the present case against the petitioner and others. However, on several dates, the opposite party no.2 did not take steps. Although some of the respondents therein had been absent in a few occasion, the proceeding has remained pending largely for no fault of the present petitioner. The petitioner is continuing to pay the sum of interim relief of Rs. 10,000/- per month as granted in the said proceeding. In the interest of justice, an order may be passed to expedite the proceeding.

I have heard the submissions of the learned counsels appearing on behalf of the petitioner and have perused the revision petition.

No prejudice will be caused to anyone if a direction is passed to expedite the proceeding. It appears that some delay has been occasioned in disposing of the present application.

In view of the above and in the interest of justice, I request the learned trial Court to conclude the proceeding as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to any of the parties and keeping in mind the statutory stipulation regarding expeditious disposal of a proceeding under the said Act.

With these observations, the revisional application is disposed of.
