Dhara ...for the petitioner Mr. Partha Pratim Das Mr. Raju Mondal ...for the Zilla Parishad Today the writ petition is taken up for consideration pursuant to the previous order dated 29th June, 2022. Matter relates to payment of sum of Rs. 3,53,900/- to the petitioner by the authorities of North 24 Parganas Zilla Parishad.
Mr. Partha Pratim Das, learned advocate representing the said Zilla Parishad has submitted that the cheque has been made ready for payment in favour of the petitioner. In support of such submission Mr. Das has placed before this Court one letter dated 6th July, 2022 issued by the Secretary, North 24 Parganas Zilla Parishad addressed to the petitioner for receiving a cheque to the tune of Rs. 3,53,900/- being No. 995285 dated 28th June, 2022 drawn on Punjab National Bank, which is taken on record. However, it has been submitted on behalf of the petitioner that such letter dated 6th July, 2022 has not yet been received by the petitioner. Copy of such letter dated 6th July,
2022 is handed over to the learned advocate of the petitioner in course of hearing of this writ petition today. Considering the aforesaid position this Court directs the petitioner to attend the office of North 24 Parganas Zilla Parishad within a period of 7 (seven) days from date during working hours for collecting the said cheque. On attaining the office of North 24 Parganas Zilla Parishad and production of the letter dated 6th July, 2022 the concerned authority of the said Zilla Parishad is directed to hand over the said cheque to the petitioner upon obtaining acknowledgement from the petitioner.
Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings. (Saugata Bhattacharyya, J.)
