Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 950 days.

Learned Advocate appearing for the State submits that the petitioner played an active role in a racket involving kidnapping for ransom. He submits that a part of the ransom was also recovered. He refers to the statements recorded under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code implicating the petitioner. Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein as appearing from materials in the case diary, we are unable to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. C.R.M. 8936 of 2021 is dismissed.
