The status report filed by the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State respondents is taken on record.

It appears from the said report that the petitioner has been recorded as awardee with regard to the award passed for acquisition of the plot no.1074 which originally belonged to his predecessor-in-interest. Admittedly no compensation has been paid to the petitioner despite his name appearing as awardee.

In view of the same, this Court is inclined to hold that the petitioner may be directed to approach the concerned authority for verification of his identity and title subject to which the authority shall disburse the amount of compensation in favour of the petitioner.

Accordingly this writ petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to approach the respondent no.4 for verification of his identity and title within 7 working days from date. The respondent no.4 shall disburse the compensation to the petitioner as awardee in his favour

upon verification of his identity and title within a period of two months from the date on which the petitioner approaches the respondent no.4.

With the above observations and directions this writ petition being WPA 20511 of 2022 is disposed of. There shall be, however, no order as to costs. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be furnished to the parties upon compliance of necessary formalities.
