The petitioner was an approved Group-D staff of Sonarpur Vidyapith and he retired on superannuation on December 31, 2018.

The petitioner by the instant writ petition is praying arrear salary for the period from May 01, 1995 to February 28, 1997 and interest thereon. The petitioner further prays that his Pension Payment Order be revised in terms of Ropa Rules, 2019.

On February 28, 2023 Mr. Chattopadhyay, learned senior Government Advocate submitted that arrear salary as claimed by the petitioner has been paid to him. The further hearing of the matter was adjourned on the said date enabling Mr. Chattapadhyay to take instruction regarding payment of interest on the said arrear salary. Mr. Chattopadhyay, today files written instruction of his client wherefrom it appears that an amount of Rs.83,784/- on account of such interest has been paid to the petitioner and

the revised Pension Payment Order has already been issued to him. Let those instructions be kept with the record.

In view of such development, no further order need be passed.

W.P.A. 20552 of 2022 is, thus, disposed of without any order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
