The Union is represented by Mr. S. Bera.

This Court has considered the report in the form of affidavit filed by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Asansol (Sadar) dated 13th October, 2023. It appears that the domicile certificate produced by the writ petitioner before the Staff Selection Commission is genuine. The report is taken on record.

In that view of the matter, the order dated 24th July, 2023 singed by the Presiding Officer, 11 Bn. CRPF asking for a fresh domicile certificate shall stand quashed and set aside.

The Staff Selection Commission shall proceed with the writ petitioner's application based on his domicile certificate dated 6th July, 2023, which is already submitted and take necessary steps as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of ten days from date, in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
