Barnali Gupta, learned advocate, who ordinarily appears for the State, is directed to represent the State. Her appointment may be regularised by the concerned authorities.

Petitioner approached this Court being aggrieved by the inaction of the police authorities. The accusation in the information which was furnished related to one Ruhul Ajam Mallick being the respondent no.4 herein. The information was furnished lastly on 24.06.2024.

If, till date, no steps have been taken by the police authorities, petitioner would approach the jurisdictional Magistrate with necessary prayers. Learned Magistrate would assess and ascertain regarding the genuinity of the accusations and pass necessary directions as he deems fit and proper. With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 20922 of 2024 is disposed of. Pending connected application, if any, is consequently disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
