Petitioner submits he had contested the Panchayat election. Thereafter, he is being harassed in connection with this case.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail. He submits petitioner is absconding for six years. His prayer for anticipatory bail had been turned down in 2017.

We have considered the materials on record. There are materials implicating the petitioner in the crime. He prayed for anticipatory bail in 2017 which was rejected. Hence, petitioner was aware of the present criminal proceeding. Thereafter, he absconded for six years. Presently, he has approached this Court in anticipatory bail.

In view of his conduct and materials on record, we are not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 5.
