The petitioner is aggrieved that since after a complaint to the District Magistrate, North 24 Parganas as regards corruption and misappropriation of funds at the Begampur Bibipur Gram Panchayat, he is being threatened and intimated by the Prodhan and Upa-Pradhan.

The said funds were obtained for developing the Karkhana Bari Kabarsthan. It is stated that the Prodhan of Begampur Bibipur Gram Panchayat has misappropriated the said sum of Rs.1,57,811/- received under "Mahatma Gandhi Jatiya Gramin Karma Nischatya Prakalpa" Scheme .

The District Magistrate, North 24 Parganas shall investigate into the complaint of the petitioner after calling for appropriate reports.

The Officer-in-charge, Matia Police Station, Basirhat shall ensure that the petitioner is not in way

harmed or threatened by anybody. Matia Police Station shall keep regular vigil on the petitioner's premises and immediately attend to any complaint of the petitioner in this regard.

With the aforesaid observations, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

Instructions of the Officer-in-charge, Matia Police Station, Basirhat Police District dated 14th November, 2022 addressed to the Government Pleader, High Court, Calcutta be taken on record.

There will be no order as to costs.
