For the State The petitioner is aggrieved by the notification for recruitment of primary teachers issued by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education on 23rd December, 2020. The petitioner is primarily aggrieved by the age bar which hits him.

According to the petitioner he was within age when the TET-2014 examination was held, but by the time the recruitment notice was published in the year 2020 he crossed the prescribed age of forty years. As he became over aged on the date of publication of the recruitment notice he could not appear in the said recruitment examination.

The petitioner relies upon an order dated 19th January, 2021 passed by a Co-ordinate Bench of this

Court in WPA No. 651 of 2021 (Samaresh Manna - vs - The State of West Bengal & Ors.).

I have perused the order dated 19th January, 2021 relied upon by the petitioner. In my opinion, the petitioner will not get the benefit of the said order because he has approached the Court exactly a year after the recruitment notification was published. The petitioner has not given any reason for approaching the Court at such a delayed point of time.

The recruitment notification required filing online application on and from 23rd December, 2020 to 6th January, 2021. The said time limit is over long ago. No relief can be granted to the petitioner in the instant case at this stage.

The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed. Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.
