Since the innocuous prayer of the petitioner is for expeditious disposal of Complaint case CS-65858 of 2021 pending before the learned Metropolitan Magistrate, 20th Court, Calcutta (presently redesignated as the learned Judicial Magistrate, 20th Court, Calcutta), the matter may be disposed of without service of notice upon the opposite parties. The opposite parties shall not be prejudiced by an order directing expeditious disposal of the case. It appears from the record that the case is pending since 2020. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the plea has been recorded on 8th July, 2022. Witnesses are yet to be examined.

In view of the above, the learned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as expeditiously as the business of the Court would permit without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, in accordance with law. Accordingly, CRR 3506 of 2024 is disposed of. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon compliance of all requisite formalities. (Suvra Ghosh, J.)
